A little spray paint and hallway addition!

Before
Once we got our wood floors installed (update will come on that later) all I could notice was that we had bright gold knobs all over our house! So of course I start blog stalking to find ways to transform door knobs without spending too much mula! That's when I came across the idea to spray paint my already existing knobs! I spent about $4.00 at Walmart, removed the knobs, sanded, spray and that's it, so easy!

Lake Nacimiento Trip

The lake is shaped like a dragon and has a bunch of little different private beaches
One weekend in mid August our friends invited us to their lake house on Lake Nacimiento and thank goodness they did! This area is absolutely beautiful! My hubby and I got to road trip up near Paso Robles and have a weekend of fun! We got to go for walks, play mini golf, go on the boat, lay out, cook and eat amazing food and RELAX! This was my kind of weekend!

Bathroom Update!

Thank goodness for handy husbands! We were finally able to get rid the carpet in our master bathroom...who puts carpet in a bathroom to begin with? We now have stone floors!

A Little Love on Tuesdays~ Sandalwood Fan Favors

When it came to our wedding favors I had so many ideas and I really wanted to do sandalwood fans but wasn't sure how to incorporate them! Of course living in Southern California you would expect the date of July 9th to be steaming hot...well that did not quite happen! Wedding day weather by the beach was overcast and cool! Thank goodness I thought to display them as a decoration and didn't just hand out sandalwood fans on a cool overcast day! I bought each box with a 40% off coupon at Micheals and then printed a monogrammed "thank you for attending the wedding of Chelsey and Tucker" tag, tied a ribbon and there they were!

A Little Love on Tuesdays ~ Menus

Menu's placed for each guest

The Caterer offered to place them in each napkin
The details

To plan a DIY wedding it takes lots of time and research. I knew that I wanted all of my paper products to match; same font, same colors, same textures etc. When I realized how expensive it would be to have matching invitations, menus, seating cards and favors I heard another DIY project a knockin'. So I purchased black and ivory cardstock, made a "S" monogram and chose the font! I printed the menu on ivory cardstock, backed it on black cardstock, poked a couple of holes and tied a ribbon. When I met with out caterer to finalize our menu I made sure to jot down some notes so I knew exactly what we were serving! People think making menu's is a waste of time, especially if your doing a buffet...BUT they are a cute touch and when people are waiting in the buffet line they already know what they will be choosing for dinner! Morning Coffee and a Walk in the Garden

On my days off I love nothing more than to wake up, brew some cinnamon coffee, walk out my door and see my garden! (I think I have turned into my mother...which is not a bad thing by any means) I love to watch the progress of blooming flowers, growing bulbs and tasty vegetables!

A Little Love on Tuesdays

Thank goodness for DIY wedding projects because they sure make a wedding budget reachable! Towards the end of planning the money stack seems much shorter! Thats why making additions to the wedding decor yourself really saves so much money! I purchased wooden numbers and black spray paint and made our numbers!

Yup, that's right! Those kitchen cabinets are painted!
Our little big weekend project is complete! We have been debating on how we are going to re-do our kitchen! Of course we purchased this house because we didn't have to re-do anything...but my husband married a "home improvement" fanatic! We have been debating on having someone re- stain the cabinets, or replace the cabinets, or doing them ourselves. We of course chose the "DIY" option. Our first step to our kitchen flip was to get rid of those maple cabinets! We purchased the "cabinet transformations" kit for $120 and started painting! Now we  need to splurge on...floors, counters, appliances etc.
