Babies first Christmas

My favorite picture from Christmas morning

It's is amazing how quickly Christmas comes and goes. Every year I tell myself I will start and more importantly end by shopping early and yet again this did not happen! I ran out on Christmas Eve to pick up a couple of items and I am glad I did. It is always nice when you feel good about the gift you are giving. I am sad that Easton's first Christmas has already passed us by but we sure have some great memories! As our family sat together on Christmas watching Easton and entertaining him (or was he entertaining us?) we asked, "What did we do before Easton?". As if he consumes our every moment...honestly I think he does.

Easton got a couple of gifts from friends and family, which he will definitely enjoy! He has already used every gift. He got two wonderful personalized books, bath toys, a couple of outfits, Scout the teddy bear, a jumperoo, some toys and babies first bible. I want to make sure that I teach him the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate. It is not all about gifts and cookies and Santa. I want him to be thankful for what he has and enjoy the time spent with family.

Baby Shower Food

The ladies were able to incorporate all my favorite foods and just about every food group! Of course the shower was on an extremely hot day and the girls had to be cookin' away for hours before! Thank goodness for some good AC. The menu consisted of chicken salad crescent sandwiches (a pregnant girl can't be having any lunch meat), a green salad, a pasta salad, grilled cheese bites in tomato soup and everything you can imagine for dessert!

Ol' fashion Christmas Eve

This year we held Christmas Eve at our house. We served warm apple cider, yummy appetizers, and shrimp and corn chowder. We ended the night with a good old fashion game of dominos!

Thank goodness for Gramma

Out for a walk before the festivities

Baby Shower Decor

I must say that I am one lucky girl to have such crafty family members and friends! My sister and sister-in-law gave baby Easton and I an amazing shower. I was surprised with all the decor and absolutely loved every detail. I know they spent hours making the fabric "balls" which now hang in the nursery. He wore every handmade onesie (thanks to grandma). They were able to incorporate the nursery colors which are gray and teal and then added a touch of elephants where they could! Notice the tag on the homemade cake pops!

Merry & Bright Nursery

I couldn't help myself when it came to decorating Easton's nursery. I swapped out the nursery prints and made some Christmas prints. I added some felt snow flakes and made a little pom pom garland! I purchased  a little tabletop tree for him to become entranced with while rocking in his rocker.

This weekend we planned our annual Christmas family dinner outing! Easton was dressed to impress with his collared shirt and khakis and of course snow boots. We thought we were in the clear and then the meal showed up...we took turns eating and then eventually took turns outside and then eventually decided it was best to get the heck home! We ended up leaving early because the boy was having some major stomach issues!
