Happy 1/2 year to Easton

Easton was 6 months as of February 7th...opps! Maybe if I delay doctors appointments and blog updates time with stand still? I guess not, I guess he is actually almost 7 months and I am just getting to the 6 month tasks! Maybe Ill be better on the next month update!
At 6 months Easton eats 2 solid meals a day. Breakfast mostly consists of oatmeal and a fruit and dinner is a vegetable and oatmeal. He nurses every 4 hours during the day and on a good night wakes up once to eat...we wont speak of the other nights! He takes 3 mini naps a day. My friends and family now realize what I mean when I say the boy doesn't sleep long! His bedtime is 8 pm and bedtime is a strict routine and he does great with it! At 6 months on our home scale he is 17 lbs and wears very few 3-6 month onesies, mostly 6 month clothes and 9 month jammies! He has perfected sitting, rolls faster than I can keep track of, facetimes daily, and absolutely loves when his daddy gets home from work!
Better late than never...

Mammoth 2013

On Valentines Day we ventured up north to Mammoth Lakes, CA. I had all our goodies packed to entertain Easton...puffs, toys, the iPad etc. We decided to drive at the beginning of his first nap, which was a good choice because he slept for almost 2 hours. We made a stop after about 4 1/2 hours to stretch our legs and grab a bite to eat and of course let the babe out of the car for a bit.
All ready to go

Our first day there the others went snowboarding and I had planned to hang out at the homestead with Easton. However, I got really brave and put him in his snow outfit, baby bjorned him and took a bus ride up to the mountain base and then took a gondola up the mountain to meet everyone for lunch!

Lunch at the lodge

relaxing with auntie

hanging out at the village in Mammoth
Of course when you bring babies on vacation you must be prepared that they wont sleep, which was definitely the case with us! Since the heat wasn't working too well in the condo the babe slept with us and I was so lucky to still be nursing him, otherwise he would have been up all night!

My Love...my Valentine

My poor boy has no idea what he is in for with this mama! You better believe that he sent out his first valentines. Since this little love bug knows how to sit long enough for me to snap a picture...I was able to capture his cuteness when wearing his smooches tie onesie, courtesy of his Gramma. My card designer over at handpickednotions.blogspot.com whipped up a Valentine and had it printed at our local staples print center for me to pick up! I was super excited because I got to use our personalized stamp on the envelopes!

Love is All you Need/ Valentines Banner

To bring on that lovin' feeling I whipped up a quick felt Valentines banner for our mantel. I simply cut out a heart after tracing it on cardboard, used it as a stencil, and cut my hearts! I then sewed through a piece of yarn and taped it on up there!

Of course we have our chalkboard updated to add to the decor!

Blue and Brown Baby Shower Decor

When planning the decor for my besties shower we were thinking blue, brown and vintage!
One of the projects I was in charge of was the onesie banner! My mom made one of these for my baby shower and Easton wore his tie and bow tie shirts all August long! Since this little one will be born in the winter I decided to go with long sleeved onesies. While making these I just kept imagining holding a tiny baby wearing these cute little things! I can't wait to get my hands on him.
We used the same fabric used in the banner to wrap large mason jars filled with baby's breath. This shower was definitely decked out in blue, brown, mason jars, and lots of babies breath!

First Night out in almost 6 months!

Yes that is right...we have not left Easton with anyone EVER at night...controlling much? I guess so! While Easton was spending some time with his grandparents, we met up with my sister and her bf and my brother and his wife! We ate at one of my favorites Rockin' Baja Lobster in Newport Beach. It is THE best! We started with a pitcher, yes a pitcher of cadillac margaritas and then got a bucket of delicious food. The night ended with a little pool. Tucker and I left early since I had to work on Saturday and of course we wanted to relieve the grandparents!

Baby Valentine Shoes

Last week the weather was beautiful and Easton got to sport a short sleeved onesie! Sad to think next time it is hot he will be wearing big kid outfits...time flies way to fast! Since it is February of course I bought some Valentines shoes for my baby man. They are from Old Navy and I just couldn't help myself! After his morning nap we sat outside and enjoyed some sunshine...and ate some shoe for a snack.
too bad you can't see his "v" neck

yum yum

heart eye patch...so festive

Baby shower and lots of books

When brainstorming ideas for "THE" baby shower we came up with the idea of adding a little snippet to the invitation requesting the guests to bring their favorites children's book (optional of course). We were very happy with the amount of books baby London was given for his baby library. We had the guests fill out a label for their book so that in the years to come the little one will know who got him these lovely books!
