Merry Mantle

Today I am joining the lovely ladies of Ten June and Our Fifth House and sharing our Christmas Mantle! This year I placed a couple of additions on each side for some height. I searched DIY felt tree tutorials for weeks and finally made some! I love the idea of sticking with the red and green for this time of year, so I stayed with the traditional look. And yes I have my baby proofed fireplace and no I didn't take it down for the picture, this is real life people!

This little bucket is new to us this year and I found it at Homegoods! It is filled with pine cones from the local mountains from a couple years back!

Every evening at 5 o'clock those little twinkle lights glisten and it makes me oh so happy!
I hope to snag some personalized stockings at the end of the season to add for next year!

Toddler Felt Tree

We put our Christmas tree up the night before Thanksgiving and decorated it the day after. Easton truly feels that all round objects must be balls so after time out x5 he learned that we only point to ornaments on the tree and he has done a great job since. However kids should be able to enjoy all things Christmas  so I made him his own little "Christmas Corner".

Step 1: Fold felt in half and draw half of tree.
Step 2: Cut tree.
Step 3: Hang on the wall (I used wall safe Velcro)
Step 4: Hot glue gun the garland.
Step 5: Add hooks for the ornaments

All of the ornaments and garland are from the Target Christmas section $3-5 each. They are hanging on little velcro hooks.

He hasn't seen it yet because he is peacefully sleeping on his new Flannel Crib Sheet. But I hope he is in heaven when he wakes up!

Thank you baby for sleeping so Mommy could make this for you.  I have high hopes this will keep you occupied while I wrap and make Christmas presents!

His new step stool will help him reach the higher ornaments, since he loves climbing these days (with parental supervision of course). Our cookie plate was a steal on Zuilily this past month!

A Day to be Thankful

Here is a little thanksgiving recap! In the a.m. we had Tucker's sisters family over for a breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls, sadly the camera was not present! Then we headed over to my brother and sista-in-law's for the rest of Turkey Day!

The Stroud's basically moved in...we brought the pack n play, dogs, food, white noise,  and pie. I was responsible for pumpkin pie. We enjoyed each others company, relaxing, fire pitting, and of course Easton got to go for rides on the law mower and peek through the dog door! Oh what fun!
Marina and Jamie (but i think mostly Marina) slaved since the night before with the turkey and all its fixings! My Mom of course brought some goodies too! Easton ate bread.
We have packed away all of our Thanksgiving/Fall decor and the twinkly lights and tree are up!
